So Stephen Harper says he’s not “an emotionally expressive guy.” But the increasing shrillness of his messages in the last week is a reminder that he is in fact quite emotionally expressive. He says in his tête-à-tête with Peter Mansbridge broadcast today, “This prime minister isn’t going to panic and he isn’t going to be pressured into doing something stupid just for the sake of proving that we’re doing something.” To begin to call alternatives to his own position just stupid is awfully close not just to calling opponents names but also those who might just be so stupid as to vote for those opponents. So we seem to be very close to seeing the emotionally expressive guy well-known to many in his own caucus, the bully and dictator with the famous McCain-esque temper.
You don’t think we’re on course? What, are you stupid!
